Studying Efficiently and Actually Learning Are the Same Thing
Elimika Prep is a revision platform built around how memory actually works. Every minute you spend is spent doing the thing that builds knowledge — not the thing that feels like it does.
Built for AQA and Edexcel. A product by Martial Jenga Labs.
The Problem
Why Most Study Tools Fail Students
Two failure modes that every major AI study tool shares — and one structural reason they cannot be fixed with a policy.
Getting the Answer Is Not the Same as Learning It
A student asks a question and an AI answers it. The student feels like they have learned something because they now know the answer — but they did not retrieve it from memory, they received it. A week later it is gone. The AI has efficiently delivered information that efficiently evaporated. Every major AI study tool works this way.
Reading Good Notes Is Still Just Reading
A student uses an AI to summarise a topic, generate notes, or explain a concept. The output may be excellent. But the student's mind was not required to do anything — they read, perhaps highlighted, and moved on. This is no different from a textbook, except faster. Highlighting, re-reading, and watching explanations feel productive. The research on whether they produce retention is four decades old and unambiguous: they do not.
Content Policies Cannot Fix an Architecture Problem
Most platforms attempt to solve this with instructions — they tell the AI not to give answers directly, or they add comprehension prompts at the end of explanations. But the student can always rephrase the question, skip the prompt, or simply read the explanation passively. A product that can be bypassed will be bypassed. The only fix is structural: make passive consumption architecturally impossible, not just discouraged.
What We Build
Four Stages. No Shortcuts.
Elimika Prep is architected so the AI structurally cannot do a student's thinking for them. Every stage requires genuine engagement before the next one unlocks.
Research
The student types a research query. Elimika Prep retrieves live, current sources from the web and produces a structured synthesis — key themes, main arguments, important evidence, points of disagreement across sources, and a readable summary. Sources are listed but locked. The student can see that sources exist on this topic but cannot use them for revision until each one is individually unlocked.
The Comprehension Gate
The LockBefore any source enters the student's research library, they must pass a comprehension gate. The student reads the source at its original URL. Elimika Prep then presents three questions generated specifically from that source's content — one on a specific claim or evidence, one requiring an inference the source implies but does not state, one asking the student to evaluate an argument. A vague or generic answer fails. Only genuine comprehension unlocks the source. The gate cannot be skipped.
Revision
Once sources are unlocked, the student generates revision material from their own researched content. Elimika Prep produces personalised flashcards derived from what the student specifically researched, and practice exam questions written to match the conventions of the student's actual exam board and paper at the correct mark allocation. Flashcard review is powered by a spaced repetition algorithm that surfaces each card at the optimal moment — just as the student is beginning to forget it.
Marking
The student selects a practice question and writes their answer. Elimika Prep marks it against the actual marking conventions used by their exam board for that question type. Short questions are marked on a checklist of credited points. Extended writing is marked holistically against level descriptors — exactly as a real examiner marks. Feedback tells the student precisely what earned marks, what was missing, and what they need to include to reach the next mark level.
The Solution
How Elimika Prep Works
Four sequential stages. Each one requires genuine engagement. None can be skipped.
Research
The student queries. The platform retrieves, synthesises, and locks every source until it is earned.
Student Submits a Research Query
The student selects their subject and types a research query the same way they would search for information on any topic. No prompt engineering required — natural language.
Live Sources Retrieved and Synthesised
Elimika Prep retrieves current sources from the web and produces a structured synthesis: key themes, main arguments, important facts and evidence, points where sources disagree, and a readable prose summary.
Sources Listed but Locked
The student receives organised raw material, not answers. Every source starts locked. The student can see that sources exist on this topic but cannot use any of them for revision until each one is individually unlocked through the gate.
The Comprehension Gate
The structural mechanism that makes Elimika Prep different from every other study tool. No bypass exists.
Student Reads the Source
The student reads the source at its original URL. No summary is provided. The student must engage with the actual text.
Three Questions Generated from That Source
Elimika Prep presents three questions generated specifically from that source's content — one on a specific claim or piece of evidence, one requiring an inference the source implies but does not state, and one asking the student to evaluate an argument the source makes. These questions are unanswerable without having read the specific text.
Genuine Comprehension Required to Pass
A vague or generic answer fails. An answer that could apply to any text on this topic fails. A partially correct answer fails. Only a response that demonstrates genuine comprehension unlocks the source. Failed attempts receive targeted feedback on each answer — what the source actually said and what the student's answer missed. Questions are never changed between attempts.
Source Enters the Research Library
Once passed, the source is permanently unlocked and enters the student's personal research library. It is now available as the basis for revision material. The gate cannot be bypassed — there is no workaround.
Revision
Flashcards and practice questions built from the student's own unlocked research, reviewed at the optimal moment.
Flashcards Generated from Researched Content
Elimika Prep reads the student's own unlocked research and generates personalised flashcards derived from what the student specifically researched — not generic knowledge cards pulled from a database.
Practice Questions at Exam Board Standard
Practice questions are written to match the exact conventions of the student's exam board and paper — the correct question type, correct mark allocation, and correct command words for AQA or Edexcel.
Spaced Repetition Surfaces Each Card at the Optimal Moment
The flashcard review system tracks how well the student knows each individual card. Cards the student struggles with come back sooner. Cards recalled confidently come back later. The system surfaces each card just as the student is beginning to forget it — precisely when reviewing it produces the greatest memory benefit.
Marking
Examiner-aligned feedback against actual AQA and Edexcel marking conventions — not a generic rubric.
Student Writes Their Answer
The student selects a practice question and writes their answer in full. No hints, no prompts, no scaffolding. The answer is submitted as written.
Marked Against Actual Exam Board Conventions
Elimika Prep marks the answer against the actual marking conventions used by the student's exam board for that question type — not a generic rubric. Short questions are marked on a checklist of credited points. Extended writing is marked holistically against level descriptors, exactly as a real examiner marks.
Specific, Actionable Feedback Returned
The student receives feedback that tells them precisely what earned marks and why, what was missing and what they would need to include to reach the next mark level, and specific advice on how to improve. The same question can be resubmitted and improvement tracked across attempts.
Who It's For
Built for UK GCSE and A-Level Students
Elimika Prep covers AQA and Edexcel — the two largest exam boards in England. Every piece of content it generates is calibrated to your specific exam board, year group, and subjects.
Build the Habits That Make the Difference at GCSE
GCSE exams reward students who can retrieve and apply knowledge under pressure — not students who have read their notes the most times. Elimika Prep builds that retrieval habit from the start. Every session produces real retention, not the illusion of it. The platform knows your exam board, your subjects, and the exact question types and mark allocations you will face.
- Research, gate, revise, and practice in one structured pipeline
- Flashcards built from your own researched content, not generic databases
- Practice questions at AQA and Edexcel standard with correct mark allocations
- Marking feedback aligned to actual examiner conventions
The Depth A-Level Demands Requires a Different Approach
A-Level examiners are looking for genuine understanding — the ability to evaluate arguments, weigh evidence, and construct extended responses that reflect real intellectual engagement with the material. Passive revision produces surface-level familiarity. Elimika Prep produces the kind of deep encoding that extended writing questions demand. The comprehension gate alone forces a quality of engagement with sources that most A-Level students never develop independently.
- Live source retrieval keeps revision content current and academically credible
- Comprehension gate forces genuine engagement with primary and secondary sources
- Extended writing questions marked against level descriptor conventions
- Spaced repetition calibrated to the volume of content A-Level subjects demand
Exam Board Coverage
Currently covering AQA and Edexcel across all major subjects. OCR and WJEC support is in development and will be released in a future update.
What Is Coming
Where Elimika Prep Is Going
The current product covers the full study cycle from research to marked practice. These are the next areas of development.
Improvement Tracking
In DevelopmentThe platform already stores every practice attempt a student has ever made. A view that surfaces how marks on the same question type have changed over time — showing genuine progress across attempts — is in active development.
Expanded Exam Board Coverage
In DevelopmentThe platform currently covers AQA and Edexcel. OCR and WJEC are the next targets, which between them cover the remaining major share of UK secondary examinations.
Mark Scheme Completeness Monitoring
PlannedThe system tracks which subject and paper combinations are missing official marking conventions and flags them for resolution. Automated monitoring is planned, with particular focus on July each year when new exam series marking guidelines are published.
